History

For almost forty years, an old country residence dating from the eighteenth century and set in the vineyards of the "Orientali del Friuli" hills has been home to our wine cellar. After you pass through the large gates, you will believe that time has stopped. A feeling of tranquillity pervades every corner and takes you by the hand.

The business is the result of my father Sergio's passion. In the 1970s, he acquired the first hectare of the vineyard so that he could enjoy, together with his best friends, a fine glass of genuine, authentic wine.

Slowly, over 40 years, the vineyard has grown, until now there are 9 hectares.

Now I, Anna, take great pleasure in running the business, and I never forget my origins.
I have a strong emotional link to the vineyard, because it brought a big change to my life. I was working as a biologist, and I never dreamed that one day, everything would be so different. The growth of the vineyard, and the need to bring new energy and ideas to it, resulted in an important decision for me in 1999 – to move from my biologist's life in Ferrara, surrounded by test tubes, to Albana di Prepotto, surrounded by wine barrels and wine. And I have never regretted this move!

 On nine hectares, mainly on a hillside, our large vineyard produces remarkable quality wines with a strong bouquet. Following tradition, every day we do our best to make the most of our soil. To ensure this, we favour the cultivation of vines which are native to our region: Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Verduzzo Friulano and Picolit among the whites, Refosco dal peduncolo rosso, and Schioppettino di Prepotto among the reds.

In addition to these local varieties, Sauvignon continues to be the highlight of our business. Among the international reds, we produce Cabernet Franc, Merlot and the red Guardafuoco couvee.

Our mission is to create wine, but in 2003 we also opened charming and high-quality accommodation, where we offer our guests a family-style "vineyard holiday".
The doors  are always open for you to visit our wine cellar or to taste our wines on the picturesque terrace which overlooks the large vineyard.
